Under the guidance of their esteemed research paper adviser, Dr. Pearl E. Cuevas, a renowned professor in SBLC’s Graduate School, Major Paula Benilda C. Aromin NC and Mr. Anroe Alan C. Cariaso embarked on a journey of exploration and discovery. Their research aimed to shed light on the factors influencing vaccine hesitancy among older Filipino citizens, ultimately contributing valuable insights to healthcare practices and policy-making.
As SBLC graduate students Major Paula Benilda C. Aromin NC and Mr. Anroe Alan C. Cariaso illuminated the international stage with their research, they underscored the institution’s mission to empower students to make meaningful contributions to the field of healthcare. In a shining moment for St. Bernadette of Lourdes College (SBLC), Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) student Mr. Alvaro T. Dioquino Jr. secured the prestigious Best Research Proposal award at the 4th Biennial International Conference on Nursing Education Practice & Research held at the Palacio Del Sur, Marcian Garden Hotel in Zamboanga City from July 6 to 7, 2023.
Competing with nursing professionals and researchers around the world, Mr. Dioquino’s outstanding achievement was made possible with the guidance of his dedicated research adviser, Dr. Pearl Ed G. Cueva, a respected figure in the field of nursing research at SBLC.
The award-winning Research Proposal, titled “Human Activities and Dengue Programs: An Evaluation,” delved into the critical intersection of human activities and dengue prevention programs. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of dengue prevention initiatives in the context of human activities. This research was particularly relevant given the pressing global health challenges posed by vector-borne diseases like dengue.
Aligned with the event’s theme, “Nurses Together: A Force for Global Health,” Mr. Dioquino’s research proposal demonstrated SBLC’s commitment to innovative research in the healthcare and medical industry. By exploring the dynamic relationship between human activities and dengue programs, this research contributes valuable insights to global efforts to combat vector-borne diseases.
